Posting Particularly Perturbing PureVolume Pieces

Sooo... After much pressure from the Aussie contingent of my MSN conversations, I have recorded four songs and posted them onto PureVolume. I switched sites after seeing Tim DeJonge's PureVolume site, and thinking of how much more snazzy it was than SoundClick. So, here is the link. http://www.purevolume.com/devonhummel. ENJOI!

Working on an Integral Part of Life

So the second annual Men of Integrity has come and past. Once again, it was a great time; the speeches, fellowship, singing, and of course, the food. The topic was the work we do everyday, whether that be being a minister, a student, or a steel shmuck. I guess I knew it already, but it was good to be reminded how we should work, and most of all, why we must do our job to the best of our ability. Basically, we have to work as if we are working for God Himself. That seems to make it more important to wake up in the mornings, but we'll see how that goes. The other thing I really enjoyed hearing was Bezuyen mandating everyone to get into the arts, and make music, paintings, and movies that would compete with the secular ones in quality, and maybe be even better. How likely this is, especially in the movie department, I don't know, but its for this reason that I plan on recording my music over the next few weeks. However, I may need a kick in the arse from some of you all, so if the next post doesn't contain a link to a new recording, I will give each of you........ a sincere apology. Thats all folks, THK

my bum is sore. - (not much of a title, but it is true)

I fully realize that its been over a month since I last posted, but I take solice in the old saying 'silence is golden', and the line from some song, the title of which I can't remember, 'You say it best, when you say nothing at all'. OK the last one was way out of context too, but whatever, 'Better to be thought a fool than open your mouth (or write a blog post) and remove all doubt'. Furthermore, I have nothing to say that is of any worth. Ciao

Oh yeah, the Stealth chalked up one more measly point with a 1-1 tie tonight against Ancaster.

Brain vs. Technology

Slowly, but surely, the entire world has begun to turn off their brains. They have shut out that little voice inside their head that says... "That makes no sense" and their sense of intuition that queries, "Are you sure about that one?" Yes people, I am talking about the lack of common sense minded people in the world today. The people who say "Maybe it doesn't make sense, but the thing said it was right". This is what I'm talking about.

My favourite part is the bottom paragraph. Its funny, and sad all at the same time.

Tip of the Hat to Dave Berry @ http://blogs.herald.com/dave_barrys_blog/ for this one.

Patching Together a Win

The Smithville Stealth won our first game ever as a team of the CRHL. No doubt on an emotional high from finally sporting the "Matt Patch" on our left shoulders, and from visiting the Bos' before the game. Congratulations fellers, we earned this one. And I finally get to wash my equipment! It was begining to bother even me.

p.s. Heres the basic look of the new patch. Actually, it looks even better on the jerseys.

Band Name Quandry

Ok what would you all say is a better band-name?

Plastic-Cab

or

Hoping for Heroes

There are some others, but these are the ones I've managed to whittle it down to. Both have some meaning or a lot of meaning, but I'll explain some other time.

Faith in the Dark

Sin has left its mark right on me
I'm out in the dark, I'm on my knees
Theres one last place that I can go
And I'm fully confident that He will know
Even at this hour, Hes there
And I can pour out my thoughts when I'm scared
When I cant find the windows or the door
I grope for a handle all over the floor
He'll show me the place for me to start
Put the faith right in my heart
And I turn the knob and walk outside
Feelings of joy and hope combined

Strangely Me!

I was tagged by Tim S. to tell six strange things about myself. Here they are:
1. I only shave once a week because I detest it so much. That is Saturday night.
2. I never air out my hockey equipment because I told my team that I'll only do that when we win. We haven't
3. I like Keane but detest Coldplay. (Well, I used to)
4. I enjoy coffnog on occasion, a delectable mix of coffee and egg nog. (It's not that great, but I invented it, so I like it, kinda like an ugly baby)
5. I drive like a grandpa
6. I prefer not to leave Smithville if at all possible.

I tag Jean Cretien, and Yao Ming
